We produce a wide range of market leading brands, including Cathedral City cheese, Clover dairy spread, Country Life butter and Frylight cooking spray. We also manufacture specialised ingredients for use in the infant formula, human nutrition and animal feed markets.

Our Kirkby site is where all our butters and spreads are made. Clover, Country Life, Utterly Butterly, Vitalite and Willow are all produced here under one roof. We are now looking for an experienced Shift Engineer to join our team on a 12 hour rolling shift pattern (4 on 4 off) on a fixed term contract.

What you’ll do at Dairy Crest

·Implement and drive continuous improvement in equipment reliability, efficiency, utilisation and productivity

·Ensure all engineering works are carried out in line with good manufacturing and safe working practices.

·Work with the engineering management and other members of the engineering team to improve personal skill base and that of the site engineering team.

·Assist in the training of new members of staff and in the ongoing training and development of the engineering team.

·Liaise with external contractors and suppliers in the planning and implementation of engineering and site development works

·Liaise with members of the site team to ensure that targets are met or exceeded.

·Ensure that all plant and equipment meets or exceeds productivity and efficiency requirements.

·To ensure that all statutory and Company requirements within the remit of the engineering department are fulfilled within the defined timescales

·Comply with Health and Safety at Work regulations.

·Collect and communicate key issues and identifying actions against top issues on a daily basis for the review purposes.

Who’s right for the role?

The successful candidate will ideally have:

·A recognised engineering trade apprenticeship and/or minimum HNC in an engineering discipline.

·At least 5 years engineering experience within the chilled FMCG sector (Preferred)

·Experience of fault finding and maintenance of high speed process and packaging systems

·Good standard of numeracy and written and oral literacy and able to communicate clearly and concisely
