Position Title: Financial Accountant

Location: United Kingdom, Abingdon

* Assisting with the preparation of our Toxicology group companies month end management accounts (by working day 2) and control files (by working day 7) in a timely and accurate manner, for review by the Financial Accounting Manager and Head of Accounting Services;

* Cost review and analysis to include explanations for variances to budget and prior periods by working day 2, and additional analysis post month end;

* Monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, including Trade Debtors and Creditors;

* Intra-group recharges calculations and invoicing by working day 8;

* Responsibility for monthly intercompany agreements, including final submission to Corporate by working day 2 at 5pm;

* Dealing with various ad hoc queries and requests for information;

* Revenue review and variance analysis;

Knowledge of TC, PLC and CAPEX preferred

* Involvement in weekly sales flash preparation;

* Manage the CAPEX process for the group companies, including assisting with Abbott capex request form completion; budget setting; tracking spend; and cost-benefit analysis to ensure success of projects;

* Ownership of at least one company's VAT return, Intrastat and EC sales with submission due quarterly;

* Liaising with Auditors and submitting lead schedules at year end, ensuring agreed deadlines are met;

* Assisting with both financial and Sarbanes Oxley audit requirements;

* Helping maintain user access in Sage and WAP

* CIMA / ACCA part-qualified;
* Experience working within a Finance department
* Holiday restrictions apply at month ends and financial year end
* Experienced user of SAGE 200 and Hyperion HFM is desirable;
* Advanced knowledge of Excel, to include v-lookups, complex pivot tables and SUMIFS etc;
* Previous use of Sicon WAP (Web Authorisation Processor) an advantage
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail;
* The role is ideal for an experienced accountant who can use their initiative and has strong problem solving skills;
