This is an exciting opportunity for a Sales Ledger Assistant to join a busy finance team for a well known retail brand.

Key Responsibilities include

  • To ensure all incoming Customer receipts are accurately processed, allocated and reconciled in the system.
  • Processing unpaid items
  • To ensure unidentified & unallocated receipts are processed, investigated and resolved as per policy
  • Ledger entry and reconciliations
  • Resolving queries from customers, sites and internal teams
  • Assisting with internal and external audit
  • Preparation of weekly store information
  • Print off weekly trading summary
  • Reconcile store information to general ledger accounts
  • Create manual journals to correct financial exceptions
  • Reconcile cash book entries
  • Validate bank entries to weekly trading reports
  • Amend any bank diff
  • Filing
  • Internal Post
  • Ad hoc tasks

What you'll need to succeed

  • Accounting knowledge required
  • Experience in one/or more of the following: Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger, payment processing/allocation
  • Bank reconciliation experience desirable but not essential
  • Experience in problem solving and query management
  • Computer literate with intermediate/advanced Microsoft Excel skills i.e VLookups, pivot tables, formulas
  • To work as a team
  • Colleagues must assist other team members at peak volumes
  • Always be polite to customers and colleagues
  • Be ambassador for company culture of honesty, hard work and good reputation
