Temporary Housing Options Officer and Duty/Triage Officer

Venn Group Social and Housing Recruitment Team are currently recruiting for an interim Housing Options Officers for our Local Authority client based in Berkshire to begin temporary employment within their team

Location: Berkshire
Contract Type: 1 month
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Mon-Thurs. 8.30am-5pm, 4.30pm leave at Fri

Responsibilities:

  • Providing a front line housing needs assessment service for various client groups
  • Undertaking detailed investigations into applicants' circumstances
  • Conducting the initial interviews both face to face and over the phone
  • Establishing client's eligibility for various financial aid available
  • Providing up to date housing options and advice to those threatened with homelessness
  • Liaise and negotiate with letting agents, landlords and various external partners
  • Deal with the housing register and allocations of properties
  • Assessing the clients eligibility for re-housing
  • Maintain files to a high standard
  • Write personal Housing plans


Essential Skills:

  • Working knowledge of the HRA
  • Worked in a Housing Options role previously
