Accounts Assistant

Company:

Our client who are a service provider organisation in the Leigh area are recruiting for an Accounts Assistant on a permanent basis. Working closely with the Finance Director, you will be given exposure into all levels of accounts alongside full ledger responsibility, therefore this is a great opportunity offering scope for future progression. You will be provided with the encouragement to develop within a supportive environment.

Main Job Role:

  • Reporting to the Finance Director
  • Responsible for a range of financial functions across the sales, nominal & purchase ledgers
  • Matching, batching and coding invoices/credit notes and posting to ledgers
  • Control of cash receipts within the business including full reconciliation and banking with responsibility for petty cash
  • Assisting in production of monthly and annual accounts where applicable
  • Ad-hoc reporting and system & process improvements
  • Credit control
  • Assisting with processing the payroll for weekly and monthly employees

Person Specification:

  • At least 2 years accounts experience
  • Currently studying towards AAT qualification would be an advantage
  • Good systems knowledge (Sage experience would be beneficial)
  • Must be able to demonstrate an ability to work on own initiative
  • Possess a high level of written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to build effective working relationships at all levels
