IT Support Technician


Salary: £25,000

To provide IT/phone support and management for two busy office sites (Leeds and Manchester). The IT Support Technician will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of all computer workstations and phones in the office. The IT Technician will be the point of contact for employees who are experiencing computer issues.

Experience Required:

*Proven experience as IT Technician or relevant position

*In depth understanding of computer systems and networking

*Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles

*Excellent diagnostic and proven problem-solving skills

*Excellent communications ability in order to communicate technical concepts effectively to a varied audience

*Outstanding organisational and time-management skills

*Ability to meet deadlines and manage conflicting priorities effectively in high pressure situations

*Strong sense of discretion and confidentiality required.

*Current driving licence essential to allow travel between Leeds/Manchester sites.

*Ability to work flexibly between Leeds and Manchester sites.

*Certification as IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g. CompTIA A+. Microsoft Certified IT Professional)


*Set up workstations with computers and other peripheral devices (printers etc)

*Check computer hardware (HDD, Mice, Keyboards etc) to ensure functionality

*Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications

*Configure new logins on weekly/daily basis for staff

*Develop and maintain local networks to optimise performance

*Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems

*Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate new software and computer equipment - in person, remotely or by phone.

*Organise and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing work

*Perform trouble shooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc)

*Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule

*Ensure working phone systems across both sites - The phone system in Leeds is managed.

*Check in, Check out and track IT equipment (laptops, phones and other mobile devices) across all sites and satellite locations.
