Our diverse, energetic Finance Team are recruiting for an enthusiastic and dynamic Management Accountant to provide support to our Catering finance division whilst a member of the team is seconded on a short-term project.

The position is initially offered on a 3-6 month temporary contract but it is a great foot in the door to be part of a growing team and a growing business

We are keen to hear from analytical Management Accountants who can build effective relationships across the division in order to influence, advise and guide stakeholders across the various operational units. Reviewing divisional results in order to identify and highlight underperforming area, you will advise and guide managers to drive productivity and make improvements where necessary to boost turnover.

Based at our office on the outskirts of Bury St Edmunds and reporting in to the divisional Finance Manager, this is a hands-on role, which will require the successful candidate to manage and prioritise their own work load effectively and work independently.

Primary duties and responsibilities:

- Month end reporting of contracts
- Processing of accruals and pre-payments in line with financial processes
- Analysis of contract results with performance insights
- Supporting with contract forecasting
- Producing profit and loss and month end reporting packs
- Payroll journals
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Rebate and discount management

Skills and Experience:

- Our preference is for a Qualified Accountant - ACCA / CIMA / ICAEW
- Good workload management skills
- Outstanding communication and influencing skills
- Strong Excel and system knowledge
- An eye for details which ensures that results are reliable and accurate
- Our preference is for candidate who can demonstrate a minimum of 1 years` industry experience

Hours and environment

Suitable candidates will be familiar with working in a fast-paced and fluid industry environment. They will be highly effective at managing and prioritising their workload and communicating effectively around progress.

Our working week is 09:00-17:30, Monday to Friday, however we support an agile and flexible working approach and seek to quantify achievement and output. As such, we have a degree of flexibility around working hours to fit both the needs of the business and our successful candidate.

It goes without saying that flexibility on the individuals` part to meet the needs of our business will be vital.

Whilst the role is based in Bury St Edmunds there will be a requirement to travel to our Nottingham site, perhaps 1-2 times per month to facilitate performance reviews.

The nature of the position being offered on a temporary basis to facilitate an in-house secondment dictates that we are seeking candidates who are available to join us as promptly as possible.
