Service Engineer - £25,000 - £30,000 (£11 - £14 per/hr) basic salary (depending on experience) + Overtime + Kit + Specialist Tools + Training + 21 days’ holidays & bank holidays

PERMANENT – Monday to Friday

40-hour week then overtime at time and a half - Saturday afternoons and Sundays is double time



My client is a successful company providing equipment and plant within the construction and civil engineering sectors. They are hugely prosperous and well-established organisation specialising in earth, restoration, land development, industrial environments, plant works and transport.

They provide various plant and vehicles such as; dozers, dump trucks, excavators, tractors, screeners, graders, compactors, low loaders, tippers, rollers and various other machinery.

Due to their ongoing success, they are now seeking an experienced Service Engineer to join their strong, dynamic and expanding business. You will be working in the field service division completing fault diagnosis, servicing, maintenance and repair works in line with company procedures on all company and customer machines at sites designated by the service coordinators.

They are a successful leading company within the industry and are continually growing. There is also excellent progression based on performance.


* You will be working onsite in Lincoln and responsible for fault diagnosis, service, maintenance and repairs on different plant equipment, tanks, auxiliary equipment, HGV’s and light vans.

* Completing fault diagnosis to low voltage vehicle electric systems.

* Carrying out welding repairs to oxy fuel welding systems.

* Liaising daily with the service coordinators and on occasions directly with the client.

* Working at different locations carrying out service and maintenance on hydraulics and pneumatics.

* Maintaining Planned Preventative Maintenance systems.

* Delivery of effective and efficient responses to all equipment and vehicle breakdowns.

* Reporting any outstanding work that is not completed.

* Responsible for mechanical and basic electrical repairs.

* Completing work sheets at the end of each job.

* Returning any unused parts in the original packaging and in a clean condition.

* Driving company vehicles in a safe and courteous manner observing all road traffic laws.

* Mentoring and training new apprentices/trainees.


* Must have general Heavy Plant or HGV Maintenance experience.

* NVQ Level 2 in Engineering, Skilled Technician and/or 3 years’ experience.

* Knowledge of Hydraulic Systems, mechanical and electrical works a necessity.

* CSCS card huge advantage.

* Willing to travel around the UK and have a full UK driving licence.

* To be hands on, driven, motivated, determined and have the ability to work using your own initiative.

* Excellent awareness and knowledge of Health & Safety.

* To be prepared to work in a busy industrial and challenging environment.
