Production Manager - £30,000 - £35,000 basic + 22 Days Holidays + Bank Holidays + Pension

PERMANENT, MONDAY TO FRIDAY – 40 hours per week

Our client is a successful manufacturing company providing equipment/plant within the construction sector.

They are a prosperous and well-established organisation employing around 9,000 staff worldwide with a healthy turnover of approximately 150 billion pounds.

They provide, manufacture, repair and service various plant such as; screeners, crushers, rollers and various other machinery for road construction, the mining sector and the agricultural industry also.

They are a successful leading company within these industries and are continually growing. There is excellent progression based on performance.

Role

* Responsible for the management of all workshop staff and production planning

* Overseeing production processes and determining quality control standards

* Implementing lean manufacturing processes

* Organising the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment

* Planning and organising production schedules

* Implementing all Health & Safety policies and procedures

* Selecting, ordering and purchasing materials

* Implementing business transformations and continuous improvement strategies

* Project managing process changes / new products / all plant equipment

* Setting department objectives/Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and review and assess ongoing performances

Requirements

* Must have previous production management experience

* Self-disciplined and focused towards profitability, cost control, customer supply and product quality

* Lean manufacturing experience required; Kaizen (Continuous Improvement), Kanban (Pull System), 5S, Continuous Flow, Andon etc

* Good understanding of quality control with the ability to work well under pressure

* Adaptable to change and always looking to implement continuous improvement

* Good knowledge of industrial plant machinery and/or hydraulic experience a huge benefit

* To be hands on, driven, motivated, determined and have the ability to work using your own initiative

* Excellent awareness and knowledge of Health & Safety – NEBOSH qualified a huge advantage

* To be prepared to work in a busy industrial and challenging environment
