Our client is one of the world’s largest and most prestigious law firms.

Their broad-based lending practice acts lender, borrower and advisory clients on high-profile and complex acquisition and event-driven financings. They are now looking for a New York-qualified US Debt Finance lawyer to support their growing US Debt Finance practice. In this role you will act for lenders and borrowers in relation to general corporate and acquisition facilities, and:

  • Advise on various corporate and acquisition financing transactions;
  • Advise on UCC Article 9 issues and drafting and negotiating New York law opinions;
  • Advise on high yield bond covenants; and
  • Advise on US private placement transactions.

You’ll be expected to lead, draft and negotiate loan agreement transactions, and assist in supervising more junior associates/trainees as required.

This is a very broad US Debt finance position, which might suit a High Yield specialists looking to branch out and do a broader mix of work – if this is the case it would be useful if you understood RCF/leveraged loan agreements. In order to be considered you will have:

    Bar admission in NY 1-4 years' PQE (class of 2014-2017), with evidence of experience in acquisition and/or leveraged finance. A high level of legal ability, relevant experience, preferably with experience of acting for lenders at an established firm. Good interpersonal skills with clients and colleagues alike and a readiness to take responsibility and use your initiative; A desire to contribute to growing the finance practice; A strong academic background. Solid knowledge of chosen area of law and industry sector(s). Strong legal skills, including drafting, negotiation and project management skills; foundation level people management and business development skills.
