Advert EDUCATION, LEISURE AND HOUSING Community Learning and Development Sanday Youth Club and Westray Youth Club Relief General Youth Worker Hours are offered on an as and when required basis £10.16 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance) A shift allowance will be paid for unsocial hours worked where appropriate An opportunity has arisen within the above Youth Clubs for energetic and enthusiastic individuals interested in working with young people in an informal setting. If you are keen to get involved in youth work, or wish to further develop your current experience in supporting and working with young people, then we would be delighted to hear from you. A comprehensive training programme and an excellent rate of pay are available to successful applicants. The role of the General Youth Worker is to provide support to the Senior Worker in developing a varied weekly programme of activities and projects, in consultation with club members and volunteers. The appointed person will be expected to attend planning meetings and Youth Worker training out with club sessions. In addition the appointed person will be required to attend other meetings and training events, over and above club sessions. You should have experience and an understanding of work with children and young people in an informal setting. Please note our Youth Clubs operate up to a maximum of 24 meetings each year including excursions and attendance at Orkney Association of Youth Clubs events.
