My client is an international design consultancy with expertise in designing legible systems for complex environments across a range of locations. With three international companies and significant new contracts won it is poised for some exciting growth.

They are looking for a finance manager who has the drive and ability to grow their role whilst ensuring the day to day financial administration of the business is well held.

Description of key tasks

• Maintain the day to day financial functions for the three companies (chart of accounts, ledgers, reconciliations, monthly payroll, pension etc)

• Be responsible for managing and reporting on cash flow on weekly basis, including a forward-looking forecast for the short-term and full year

• Develop robust credit control processes and embed them throughout the organisation

• Produce management accounts pack each month with variance analysis and commentary

• Provide appropriate and necessary reports, analysis and advice to the board of directors (Partners).

• Provide any required financial support for tendering and new business development

• Work with Project Managers and Partners to analyse profit centred reporting by project.

• Ensure the companies finance, controls and practices are diligent and comply with SORP

• Support Project Managers with their budgeting, forecasting and challenge them to ensure costs are in line with agreed budget/forecast.

• Liaise with and advise upon external financial relationships (banks, accountants, HMRC etc)

• Identify opportunities for cost savings across the business

• Manage and develop finance analyst and financial risk management including FOREX

• Assisting with the production of statutory accounts and do necessary corporate filings such as VAT, GST and Annual Reports in the UK, US and Canada

• Support Partners and Studio Manager as required

Person Specification

• Qualified ACA/CIMA or ACA

• Self-starter with willingness to assume responsibility and take charge

• Be able to advise senior members of AWF where appropriate

• Good time-management skills with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to present financial information in a way that is easily assimilated by non-financial staff

• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment as a key player

• Ability to easily adapt to changing priorities and demands

• Ability to work under pressure

• Confident and focused approach to get the job done
