Job Overview: Retained by our client, a plastic injection moulding manufacturer, we are looking to appoint a Quality Engineer to join their team.
General Summary: Our client has a requirement for an established Quality Engineer with previous experience working in a plastics injection moulding manufacturing environment. You will be responsible to support the injection moulding production teams to ensure the customers experience is improved. You will be required the develop the internal processes and support product development through the use of Lean principles to reduce defects and remove waste from the business. It is a perquisite for candidates to have internal audit, statistics production, staff member liaison, quality systems (ISO 9001), Metrology, 5S and Continuous Improvement competencies.

Responsibilities:
* Ensuring that an effective Quality Management System is being operated at all levels.
* Site lead for customer and certification (ISO9001: 2018, BRC v5) audits.
* Co-ordinate and carry out audits as scheduled
* Actively investigate customer complaints to gather specific data to establish route cause and implement corrective actions
* Visit the customer site to gain more knowledge of issues where required.
* Suggest and implement corrective actions to address route cause
* Interpret and eliminate internal quality defects
* Mentor and support a small team of 24/7 shift-based Quality co-ordinators
* Interpret specification data to measure components for release to production from technical or tool room.
* Preparing, reviewing and evaluating inspection & test plans
* Provide accurate CMM, magna mic, product performance data to the technical and production teams during troubleshooting sessions
Experience:
* Good engineering qualifications, with a good practical knowledge of how Injection moulding scientific process works.
* Previous injection moulding experience.
* Experience of leading and participating in continuous improvement initiatives
* Hands on pragmatic style and ability to influence at all levels
* Skilled communicator and motivator
* Lean and Six Sigma back ground an advantage
* Comfortable with speaking up within a pier group when required.
