What you need to know about the role

You will ensure compliance with all applicable indirect tax legislation, provide technical support to the business, and define and implement process improvements in line with the group’s tax strategy.

The role will involve working closely with the rest of the finance team to ensure consistent best practice is developed and maintained across the function.

This is a great opportunity to make your mark in the business by managing close relationships with non-finance key colleagues as part of the control and governance framework for indirect taxes.

As part of the role you will provide accurate, timely and relevant VAT advice and instruction to the business from a UK and international perspective.

Being able to identify and correctly categorises complex or unusual transactions for tax purposes is key and fully utilising internal and external sources to establish correct tax treatment.

You will participate in UK government consultations and keep abreast of emerging issues and law changes and how they will impact the group

What we need to know about you

Accountancy qualified, a tax specific qualification such as CTA is also a distinct advantage although relevant experience gained from either industry or practice will also be considered.

We are looking for someone who will thrive in an entrepreneurial environment coupled with a quick and enquiring mind, with proven business partnering skills and an ability to independently identify and control diverse issues across indirect taxes.

You will be comfortable engaging proactively with all levels of the business to provide specialist advice on all major business decisions to drive outcomes towards our strategic goals. You need to be able to work with the business to optimise tax cash flows, and devise and implement best practice processes.
