Pharmacist - Alexandra
Spire Alexandra are looking to recruit a capable and experienced Pharmacist on a part time basis to join their friendly team. This role is ideally suited to someone who is looking for the challenge of delivering a comprehensive pharmacy service within a hospital setting. Our Pharmacists are not solely pharmacy based so you will have the opportunity to interact with patients across various departments to find out their pharmaceutical requirements, review medication history, current prescriptions and relevant clinical data.

The Spire Alexandra is located in Kent and is approximately eight miles from Maidstone and five miles from Chatham. We offer everything from health screening and checks, to acute and minor surgery through to professional recovery and rehabilitation. Our facilities boasts two laminar flow theatres and 32 beds across two ward areas, an endoscopy suite, imaging department, physiotherapy and outpatient consulting rooms. Our outpatient department is open six days a week, including evenings, offering flexible appointments for patients.

Duties and responsibilities
All our clinical teams are focused on delivering personalised care, and our Pharmacists play a key role in treating patients with empathy and compassion. You will also provide advice and support to consultants, nurses and other clinicians ensuring the safe, appropriate and cost effective use of medicines throughout the hospital. Our hospital is relatively small, enabling you to build strong working relationships with colleagues and consultants and to work together to improve patient outcomes.
It is a great place to develop your skills, because here at Spire we are always looking for our Pharmacists to keep up to date with the latest developments in prescribing practice. This can lead to opportunities for you to implement new processes or procure new equipment to improve health outcomes and increase safety throughout the hospital.
