Software Account Manager with ERP software sales experience for a consultative role with an exceptionally successful company based near Aldershot on the Hampshire / Surrey / Berkshire borders. Competitive package, with base salary up to £50k, double uncapped OTE of £100k, car allowance, private medical insurance and 5 weeks holiday.

As the longest standing reseller of this mid-range ERP software solution, and a highly regarded UK software consulting company, our client has a superb track record for winning big deals, doing interesting projects and retaining customers. They have expanded heavily in 2017 having taken over a raft of support contracts from other smaller resellers.

Their new business team is doing very well and their marketing department is a well-oiled machine. Now they need to hire an Account Manager. This is a new role, as currently their sales people also do the account management, but this is starting to cause problems as new business sales people tend to end up focusing on the new deals, regardless of what they are "supposed to do".

As their new Account Manager, your primary role will be focused on their 10 key clients in the manufacturing, printing and distribution areas, who currently generate over £500k in GP from extra software and services. Your job will be to push that GP to over £1 million. Some of these clients are massive multi-national businesses with many stakeholders, lots of different sites and multiple businesses.

So, you will need to work your way around the clients finding out what they are planning in the future. This is strategy long-term selling of Enterprise ERP Software. You will probably have around 10 years sales experience and a really strong track record of ERP software account management and sales. The opportunity to carve out a long-term role and generate serious income for yourself is massive.

Your secondary role will be to take over account managing another 30 smaller clients; these typically have 60 - 300 users, and their ERP software is working and running. Your job is to find their pinch points and the pain points and look at how the ERP solution can deliver better functionality. You will need to get under the skin of the customers and really find out how their businesses run.

This account management job is perfect for a long-term thinker; you can expect to be in this role for over 5 years and possibly 10 years. As your experience of their ERP software product and the client base grows, you will be given more responsibility and there is always the chance that you could set up and lead an account management team in a few years' time.

You will have a background of Account Management and ERP software sales, along with a steady employment history, and you are likely to be an account management evangelist.

Staff are treated well and their employee retention is fantastic.

You will take clients through the sales process, keeping track of the different decision makers and making sure the key sponsors remain "on side". This is very consultative selling as the client knows they have a need - you just need to fully understand their issues.

The current sales team is led by their Sales Director who is an industry legend as a super nice guy and rainmaker, plus 2 other new business sales people. If you have the right attitude, good account management and understanding of ERP software, then the Sales Director is also happy to help someone grow into this role and further develop their ERP sales skills, if you are not as experienced as others.
