Keep Education are working with a special needs school based in the Luton area to recruit a special needs teaching assistant. You must be enthusiastic, confident and logical in order to make good progress with the child.
Main duties and responsibilities
* Able to collaborate with the classroom teacher to define appropriate activities for the pupils in relation to the curriculum
* Able to assess children who have long or short-term learning difficulties and working with colleagues to identify individual pupils' special needs
* Able to liaise with other professionals, such as social workers, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists and educational psychologists
* Working closely with parents and guardians
* Administration, including updating and maintaining records of pupils' progress
* Have excellent behaviour management skills
* Be able to build positive relationships with young people and staff
Requirements
* Be eligible to work in the UK
* Hold an Enhanced DBS Check
* Provide 2 classroom-based references
