The role

The RM Group has recognised that the core operational systems utilised in its Divisions need to evolve from the current in-house bespoke software towards a more conventional enterprise-wide ERP package centred model. This to support critical business objectives in the areas of: operational systems sustainability, process integration/efficiencies, the driving of business value from data and to support the integration needs of the Consortium acquisition. This has resulted in the establishment of the RM Evolution programme to progress the integrated strategic systems and associated business transformation and change delivery.

As part of the EVO ERP programme across 2019/20, the Workstream Leads are responsible for the day-to-day activities and the driving of business change in one of the relevant functional areas:

* Interest-to-Order/CRM

* Order-to-Invoice/Product

The Workstream Lead (WL) is a senior role responsible for the day-to-day activities and the driving of business change in the Interest-to-Order/CRM or Order-to-Invoice/Product functional areas as part of the EVO ERP programme across 2019/20.

The effective post holder will either be an experienced Project Manager or a Business Manager with experience in CRM or Order-to-Invoice processes.

Supported by, and a key part of, the business programme team, will ensure that design, set-up and cutover activities are defined, communicated, coordinated and delivered on schedule during 2019/20. Using the introduction of the new MSD365 CRM system into all Divisions, the role will take process leadership for the new end-to-end Customer centric or product and order processes across the Group. The WL will report to the business owners and take responsibility of driving the detailed activities into the Divisions. As part of the wider Evolution programme team, will facilitate the engagement, process confirmation, process testing, education, change introduction and benefits realisation strategy (specific to the relevant areas). This will require close task-level working across the RM Group, with areas that, depending on workstream, may include sales, service order processing, marketing, customer contact managers, product development, procurement, ESI teams, 3rd party suppliers, implementation supplier consultants and subject matter experts

Key responsibilities

* Day-to-day Interest to Order/CRM functional coordination (Interest to Order Workstream)

* Day-to-day Order-to-Invoice/SOP/Product activity coordination (Order to Invoice Workstream)

* Day-to-day workstream issue and problem resolution

* Day-to-day communications and awareness

* Process (re)development

* Workstream detailed activity timeline ownership and management

* Support of the existing BAU functional area teams

* Operational solution identification

* Delivery quality, completeness and timeliness

* Stakeholder awareness, Divisional team communications and engagement

* CRM and Contract solutions within the framework of standard MSD365 functionality (Interest to Order workstream)

* Order, Project and Product solutions within the framework of standard MSD365 functionality (Order to Interest workstream)

* “Dry Run” testing from a workstream and functional area perspective

* Training & support of colleagues further to receiving ‘train the trainer’ instruction

* Leading user acceptance testing from a CRM and Interest-to-Order operational perspective (Interest to Order workstream)

* Leading user acceptance testing from a Product, SOP and Order-to-Invoice operational perspective (Order to Invoice workstream)

Skills & experience


Invoice to Order workstream:

* Knowledge of RM customer contact procedures and practices

* Knowledge of RM sales and marketing

Order to Invoice workstream:

* Knowledge of RM Product and pricing

* Knowledge of RM supplier base, procurement and sourcing

* Knowledge of RM service and sales order processing/provisioning


* Knowledge of RM staff and who is currently operational responsible for what


* Experience of working in a multi-dimensional business environment

* Experience of process management

* Experience of day-to-day “Interest-to-Order” and end-to-end CRM business operations (Interest to Order workstream)

* Experience of day-to-day Order to Invoice, Procure-to-Pay and Demand-to-Available business operations (Order to Invoice workstream)


* The ability “hands-on” produce outputs and materials to the agreed timescales and quality

* The ability to see the simple answer to what may look a complex question (able to see the “wood for the trees”)

* The ability to get things done in a time-boxed environment where delivery windows are not flexible

* The ability to prioritise activities and clearly articulate the management of such activities

* Competent people management capabilities

* Demonstrated skills in the communication of activities and process change

* Ability to use web based technologies and standard MS Office tools
