The Financial Controller will be responsible for the efficient running of the division in line with Hyatt’s strategic priorities and brand standards, whilst meeting Colleague, guest and owner expectations. With responsibility for the short and long term planning and the management of the Accounting function, you will ensure the smooth and efficient operation of your area, which includes Finance, Information Systems and Materials, while maintaining Hyatt International's high standards of Financial Management. This position reports directly to the hotel General Manager, as part of the Leadership Committee whilst also reporting to our Area Director of Finance based in London. Your main responsibilities will include maintaining complete and supported accounting records of the hotel as per the Company’s policies and procedures, ensuring Divisions work within their budgets and enforcing the correct controls to allow us to safeguard the business. You will prepare and review all monthly and annual financial statements. Investigate, review and analyze the variance explanations, involving the department managers in this process. You will be expected to take initiative to manage trouble shooting for respective cost controls and revenue enhancement. You will manage hotel contracts in line with the relevant departments, ensuring compliance with the appropriate standards. Your team will complete the year-end audit process, review and approve all reconciliations and audit work papers, coordinate external auditor's visits, managing the overall process. Another key area of the role in conjunction with the Area Director of Finance will be to form relationships with the owners. This will include supervising and coordinating owner reporting as required. Providing custom reports, responding quickly to questions or requests and attend meetings.
