We are searching for a Quality Assurance Engineer to work in London. You will work as part of the wider UK QA team driving quality initiatives through conducting supplier reviews, process audits and managing customer and supplier quality issues.

You will:

* Conduct internal and 3rd party supplier procedural and process audits in line with audit schedule with effective follow up, planning & management.

* Assist in the preparation and review of internal and 3rd party and supplier quality plans

* Participate in Supplier evaluations and performance monitoring programmes based on set of agreed KPI’s and targets.

* Support robust resolution of Customer/Supplier quality related issues using standard problem resolution tools ie 8D

* Participate in First Article Inspection activity throughout the Material Supply Chain

The candidate

Someone with/who:

* A passion for engineering and a degree in Engineering, Quality, Safety or related discipline or equivalent experience gained within rolling stock

* Practical experience in ISO9001 Management Systems

* A good understanding of process capability, metrics and improvement methodology and tools

* Knowledge of Quality Assurance planning methodologies and tools ie APQP, FMEA, Six Sigma, 8D

* A certified Auditor with experience undertaking internal/external audits against Management Systems and contract requirement

* Some knowledge and experience of Project Management, Engineering, delivery processes and Supply Chain Management applicable to either railway, aerospace, automotive or construction industries

* Thrives in an international environment and possess excellent communication and English skills both orally and in writing

Duties Included In This Role:

* Implement containment action, root cause investigation and own the subsequent corrective / preventive actions.

* Assist quality controllers with first article inspection.

* Host customer and 3rd party audits.

* Perform internal and external quality system audits.

* Handling of day to day issues with product quality.

* Undertake process improvement activity.

* Project management.

Ideal Candidate For The Role:

* Will have a background in Quality Engineering.

* Experience within the rail industry is desirable, but not essential.

* Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.

* Will have a good understanding of Process Improvement techniques.

* Strong I.T skills.
