Financial Process & Controls Specialist - SUPERB ROLE McGinnis Loy Associates is proud to be working with a high-growth & entrepreneurial IT business with worldwide operations, employing over 1,000 staff and who are looking to IPO in the near future. As part of the upcoming planning, they have recently set up a “Finance Task Force” to ensure that all regulatory and financial compliance processes & procedures will be completed for the stock market listing. As a 12-month contract role, many key projects will need to be completed including SOX compliance and US regulatory compliance. Other key parts of the role include: • Streamlining Group processes to deliver improved management information (MI), planning projections and key analysis to support new regulatory requirements. • Ensuring all financial processes across the International business are working effectively and making improvements where necessary • Reviewing SOX compliance and ensuring all necessary processes are strictly adhered to • Providing training to the wider business departments around their SOX responsibilities • Working with the US parent company on share-listing regulatory compliance processes • Reviewing all financial reporting processes and procedures, streamlining their effectiveness where possible • Using 6sigma or Lean process improvement methodology to map out and improve all processes • Delivering all internal governance MI to meet Group Finance requirements to agreed timetables • Providing project summaries for review by Senior Management to ensure IPO projects are delivered on time • Challenging the validity of MI in terms of clarity and consistency to ensure that it provides fair and appropriate performance insight for decision-making • Supporting new processes around regulatory reporting that will be required by US stock exchange authorities • Developing models, systems and processes to fulfil all SOX and US regulatory obligations, ensuring they are robust and can be monitored • Liaising with internal regulatory policy owners, Heads of Finance for each Business Unit, Central Financial Control & Treasury teams This is a great opportunity for a driven Qualified or QBE Accountant who is passionate about process improvement, SOX compliance, streamlining processes and ensuring compliance with future US stock-listing requirements. With in-depth traditional Finance experience, complemented by process management skills within a US SOX reporting context, knowledge or experience in 6sigma or LEAN methodology would be a distinct advantage for this contract role. You should be able to articulate objectives and expectations to non-finance staff in an easy to understand manner, and help develop team competencies to meet changing internal project demands. Ideally, you should have a background in working for US corporate businesses where you may have challenged current reporting processes, reviewed SOX compliance processes and made recommendations for improvements. The business will also consider someone from a Top20 Accounting firm where your experience has included SOX process mapping/process improvement for US-owned & ideally US-listed clients. Strong IT skills including Cognos, Excel and TM1 or similar would also be a distinct advantage. On offer for this 12-month contract is a salary up to £45,000 + 25 days holiday, company pension & healthcare schemes, and other flexible benefits.
