Your new company will be working for an established, independent Brokers based in City as a Commercial Account Handler. They aim to provide their clients with a high quality, personal service supported by the professionalism and expertise of being in the market for many years. They provide a comprehensive range of insurance to a broad cross-section of commercial and personal clients alike. Due to the growth within the company, the position as a Commercial Account Handler has arisen.
Your new role
Your new role working as a Commercial Account Handler means you will act as broking assistant, within a team of 4, to Account Executives preparing renewal schedules and contact client prior to renewal within compliance manual timescales. You will negotiate alternative quotes, prior to renewal dates, as well as dealing with the preparation of all documentation to include invoices, credit notes etc, ensuring a smooth and trouble-free renewal for the client. Other duties will include operating an effective credit control system and constantly develop and improve processes to give clients an exceptional service.
What you'll need to succeed
You previous experience working as a Commercial Account Handler handling Commercial Risks will contribute to your success in securing this role. You will have a good understanding of all Commercial risks, and a knowledge of, or willingness to learn fast, about multinational insurance arrangements. You will preferably have practical experience of the role of a broker, as well as having good presentation skills. You will be confident obtaining information from clients via telephone & e-mail, as well as obtaining quotes and placing business. You will have excellent negotiating skills and the ability to build good relationships with both clients and insurers/underwriters. You will have communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as good organisational ability. You will ideally have experience using broking systems (Preferably Acturis) and be working towards or achieved CII qualifications.
