End Date 31 January 2019 Salary Range £31,806 - £35,340 Job Description Summary IFA Sales' goal is to develop and manage relationships with the intermediary market to influence them to do business with us and achieve our challenging market share aspirations across a range of product propositions, which includes individual protection. The Individual Protection market is very competitive and in order to help Scottish Widows secure a strong and sustainable market position we will need a team of telephone based protection specialist, development consultants to help implement our distribution plans and achieve sales objectives. The central purpose of the role will be to engage in proactive, outbound calling ( anticipated time ratio being 70% outbound activity and 30% call planning, action and pipeline management). You will be responsible for the development of individual protection business from a designated number of high potential, regionalised intermediary firms. The role will require regular engagement with highly qualified, chartered financial planners and so technical proficiency in both personal and business protection markets will be required. The protection specialist team you will work in will typically consist of 8-10 colleagues, led by one team leader to whom you will be reporting. You will be expected to understand the objectives of the SWP business and also understand how you can influence its performance KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES You will be a subject matter expert on the individual protection market, with the ability to understand and confidently articulate : customer needs for protection in both the Personal and Business Protection markets how and why trusts should be used how Scottish Widows Protect benchmarks against its competitors, drawing out the strengths and differentiators of our proposition. You should be able to confidently navigate all elements of our digital offering, with the ability to: Guide intermediaries through our end to end journey Access technical and underwriting information within the protection development centre Deliver compelling presentations using live meet Demonstrate use of our protection analysis tools Drive forward a range of actions in support of new business development from a designated panel of regionalised intermediary firms and achieve agreed sales objectives. Establish multi level contact strategies for intermediary firms within your panel that will include financial advisers, para-planners and administrators. Recording activity and information on the Scottish Widows CRM system. Agree with your team leader a development plan which should align with your balance scorecard and articulate clear and specific business and personal development objectives. Develop close working relationships with the Field Based, Protection Business Development Managers and secure their support in helping develop target intermediary firms  Comply with specified risk and compliance procedures and practices ( ensuring you are operating within Lloyds Banking Group business procedures and practices at all times.  To keep your development up to date with internal and external market changes through various public information sources, Scottish Widows resources and your own interactions and questioning of panel members. KEY CAPABILITIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE. Progress towards securing professional qualifications, Level 4 Qualification. Understanding of the intermediary market place including regulatory, technical and legislative issues . An understanding of the key competition and their propositions within this market. Ability to focus attention on meeting agreed business targets, priorities and objectives Strong analytical skills demonstrated through the ability to review a range of information and metrics and identify and prioritise appropriate actions Relationship Management Skills - builds rapport, trust and customer confidence presenting a professional image of Scottish Widows to the customer Has a thorough understanding of the way technology is used within the individual protection market and how it can be leveraged to support the sales process At Lloyds Banking Group, we're driven by a clear purpose; to help Britain prosper.
