The Finance and Admin Officer will be at the heart of CANs busy office environment supporting our work with voluntary sector and other partners across the county.

The role will be responsible for undertaking day to day finance tasks (including bookkeeping and payroll) as well as a broad range of administrative tasks. Its core duties will be in four key areas

Office Support
Ensure the smooth running of the office and management of in-bound queries including reception and switch-board. Responding to queries and supplying information directly where appropriate. Liaising with partners to facilitate meetings and other activities. Liaising with suppliers and contractors to ensure the office is able to run effectively

Secretariat & Project Support
Providing secretariat support to CANs internal meetings and external secretariat clients. Supporting Managers and the Development Team to administer projects delivered by the organisation. Participating in the creation and maintenance of documents and records including monitoring data, policy documents, project information, claims and reports.

Bookkeeping and Payments
Ensure payments to suppliers are made promptly and accurately. Ensure clients and funders are invoiced appropriately, tracking and following up on income owed to CAN. Entering data accurately onto CANs accounting systems and maintaining financial records and day to day checks in line with CANs Statement of Financial Practice. Providing information as required to CANs Accountants, Managers and other partners to facilitate the organisations overall financial management.

To undertake activities required to run and maintain CANs payroll and the small number of organisations for whom we provide payroll services.
