Basingstoke - £35-37k

Responsible for managing regulatory aspects of consumable products produced by the company and being involved in ensuring all other products are compliant.

Ensure the labelling process runs smoothly acting as an intermediate and final sign off for any labels requiring regulatory information. Support quality department when product issues arise such as mislabelling or new specifications arise. Ensuring all Technical and marketing claims are as compliant/correct as possible. Producing new MSDS with software, ensuring all MSDS are as up to date as possible. liaising with suppliers for NPD process and also existing product reformulations. Providing regulatory advice for internal use.

Job Function

1. MSDS creation: provide MSDS for company and OEM products. Maintain database to ensure all MSDS are correct and reformulated products are updated as soon as possible.

2. Product labels: ensuring labels are compliant to the regulations in countries sold- EU America & Canada mainly, however Australasia and the middle east are now being more demanding.

3. Regulations: keep up to date and research potential issues/new regulations that may positively or negatively affect the business.

4. Compliance: ensure product that is leaving the site is as compliant as possible.

Job Activities

Ensuring all packaging is correct

Providing documentation and declarations for our products to authorities and customers

Support to sales staff with MSDS and other technical information Producing MSDS

Review of all existing Product Labels for CLP/GHS/OSHA Compliancy. (and any other standards we must be compliant to.)

Knowledge of prop 65 and REACH Provide Marketing with technical support. Product test protocols for new products. QC assistance.

Technical supporting documentation is correct and provide to customers Liaise with suppliers to gain any technical information we do not have. Review legacy work and reapprove or recreate similar

Produce a database of technical information for Product Development to use on a daily basis

Assist with the NPD process, FMEAs and specifications

Shipping queries.

Maintain Label/regulatory tracker and check all new labels Maintaining all COA’s to be provided to shipping

Assist in Production of any Training aids/videos where special requirements are required for safe handling/direction for use of any products/hazards.

Organise translation, when required, of all relevant SDS and product labelling requirements for OEM/Private label accounts.

Work with Head of Transport/Logistics to produce Certificates of Analysis and Material Declarations for Import into export territories.

Attend courses, where appropriate, to improve learning, knowledge base and to keep abreast of current legislation with specific regards to labelling, packaging and material declarations.


Experience using UL Safeware GHS Professional SDS software or similar would be advantageous

Experience with CLP and GHS

BSc in Chemistry (other science degree such as bio-chem, bio-med, biology)

Experience in regulatory affairs
