We are currently managing an exciting project to recruit a Health, Safety and Environmental Manager for our long -term client.
The company are a family run business in an industry which will never die out. Due to an increase in production and a heavy investment they have created a brand new position for a HSE Manager to join their organisation. Due to the nature of the business and the level of the position you will be reporting directly into the MD

The main purpose of the position is as follows:
- To manage the Health, Safety and environmental (HSE) strategy across the site.
- To carry out and record HSE audits of areas and site risk assessments on site equipment and procedures and maintain the company HSE databank.
- To construct company HSE Policies and procedures with action to train and lead implementation in these.

Key responsibilities:
- Carry out site risk assessments, considering how risks could be reduced and implement actions.
- Carry out regular HSE site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented.
- Make changes to working practices and procedures to ensure that they are safe and comply with legislation.
- Prepare health and safety strategies and develop internal policies.
- Recording of incidents and accidents and producing statistics for the SMT
- Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all HSE legislation and any developments that affect the Business/industry.
- Controlling high risks areas, e.g. Work place transport, working at height, fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, COSHH, safeguarding machinery and occupational diseases/hazards.

To be considered for this exciting role we are looking for candidates with experience of:
- A sound technical background with the ability to manage tasks using a lateral, methodical approach, matched by a demonstrable flair for staff involvement.
- NEBOSH qualification.
- Coaching and leading a team
- Extensive experience of environmental waste control and reduction.
- Ability to manage energy reduction program.
- Manufacturing experience preferred
- Demonstrates strong analytical and planning skills.
- Demonstrable decision making skills
- Excellent knowledge of Excel, Word & PowerPoint
