We are currently looking for a Supply Chain Manager to take ownership of strategic procurement activities across the Airports (Baggage Handling & Ground Service Equipment), Aggregates & Cement, Media, Education and Vehicle Engineering businesses within our Network & Equipment Support business unit.

As Supply Chain Manager you will:
• support the Head of Procurement to design, develop and implement strategies that meet the needs of each business;
• work with key stakeholders in each business to identify, assess and quantify tangible opportunities to realise value through the supply chain, owning each opportunity from validation to realisation; and
• support the businesses to transition to, and benefit from, resulting contracts and supply chains;

Key Objectives / Accountability:

• Develop procurement strategies that maximise value for the business, based on an understanding of each specific business’s needs, the present supply basis, stakeholder knowledge and the supply market potential;
• Qualify and quantify opportunities identified in to determine anticipated benefit and gain sign off with key stakeholders;
• To the highest professional standards, lead all associated supply market assessment, sourcing, market engagement, commercial evaluations and contract negotiation to establish comprehensive framework agreements, selecting suppliers that are able to deliver best in class solutions and are the right size and shape for the businesses requirement;
• Working with local buyers, monitor key supplier performance, implementing appropriate governance, whilst undertaking regular supplier reviews;
• Lead supplier relationship management plans with key suppliers, collating supplier performance issues and managing any improvement plans;
• Support each business’s growth agenda, supporting operational activities, including bidding activities and mobilisation of new customer contracts;
• Progressively identify new opportunities to deliver value and incorporate these into the team’s Procurement and Value Plans;
• Prepare and agree with the Head of Procurement (and relevant stakeholders) ongoing activity plan, value targets and participate in regular performance reviews, with reference to progress against objectives;
• Provide a monthly status report to the Head of Procurement detailing project and programme progress, delivery against the Procurement Plan and Value Plan;
• Support other team members by adopting a positive ‘can-do’ approach to delivering team objectives, contributing in team meetings and continually seeking opportunities to improve ways of working and the achievement of teams objectives;
• Ensure all activities are aligned with both defined business unit and Divisional strategies;
• Effectively manage and set objectives with any allocated staff;
• Raise the profile of the function across the business unit through active engagement with key stakeholders; and

Specific Functional Skills and Experience:

• Essential - Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills;
• Essential - Wide experience of managing strategic sourcing projects from conception through to completion communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills;
• Essential - Capacity to drive change whilst continuing to deliver business, team and personal objectives;
• Essential - Proven track record of identifying and delivering year-on-year procurement savings against targets, across a portfolio of procurement initiatives;
• Essential - Experience of developing and obtaining buy-in for procurement strategies with key stakeholders;
• Essential - Experience of managing supplier performance and relationships (with multi-million pound spend profiles);
• Essential - Commercially astute, with the knowledge of how to use procurement and supply chain management to unlock value for the business;
• Essential - Ability to operate successfully in a dual reporting / matrixed organisation;
• Essential - Strategic thinker with the ability to establish and communicate vision and strategic direction;
• Essential - Delivery focused with a pragmatic hands on approach that meets business needs and enables strategies to be fully executed;
• Essential - High levels of energy to succeed with a strong, positive sense of purpose and commitment to excellence;
• Essential - Willingness to travel (must hold a driving licence);
• Desirable - Excellent knowledge (i.e. understanding of the supply market, the value chain and key cost drivers) of the spend categories associated with the identified businesses;
• Desirable - Experience of working with a comparable supply chain as those of the supported businesses;
• Desirable - Knowledge and understanding of current strategic Procurement techniques and value levers;
• Desirable - Comprehensive experience of drafting complex RfX documentation;
• Desirable - Comprehensive experience of drafting agreements for the supply of goods and services
• Desirable - Experience of drafting NEC3 agreements;

Educational Qualifications

• Ideally Degree educated in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management or Law.

Professional Qualifications

• MCIPS or equivalent professional qualification desirable
