THE ROLE Are you an experienced Polymer Process Engineer / Injection Moulding Technologist with particular expertise in the injection moulding sector? Have you experience with advanced moulding techniques such as sandwich/ multi-colour moulding, gas injection or foam moulding? Do you want to be involved in the latest cutting-edge technologies within the plastics processing and materials recycling industries? You'll be involved in projects from start to finish, contributing to design, build & development of novel, new process technologies. Other projects in which you may be involved vary from thermoplastic extrusion, materials recovery & recycling to materials handling and separation. You will have responsibility for design of experiments, process trials, materials testing & project management. You will need detailed knowledge of process & machine control; polymer properties and behaviour in these processes. You will also need the ability to anticipate benefits of process modifications on process economics and process capability. Additionally, experience with plastics processing ancillaries & cell automation would be valuable. This is a permanent role to complement our small but fast growing team of multi-disciplinary engineers, scientists and software developers. Some UK and overseas travel may be required from time to time and candidates must be eligible to work in the UK. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: The successful candidate will be methodical and well organised, self-motivated and able to work unsupervised. They will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including reports & presentations, and an ability to pick up new ideas quickly, working in a small, dynamic team. A combination of experience and qualifications are important and some of the flexible options likely to be attractive are shown below; Materials Science/Polymer Technology/Engineering qualifications C&G/BTec4+/HNC/HND plus 10 years industrial experience in injection moulding process technology BEng/BSc plus 5 years industrial experience Time served machine setter with other relevant training and 10 years experience in injection moulding process technology THE COMPANY We are a small, but fast growing, manufacturing technology development business with ambitious goals.
