Due to a gradual period of growth, this relatively new and thriving turnkey mechanical systems manufacturer is looking to recruit an ambitious CNC Machinist to join their expanding team at their Ashby De La Zouch based head office.

In taking full ownership of this exciting key role in the business, you will attract a highly competitive basic salary of £12-£15 per hour depending on the level of experience and industry knowledge you can bring to the business. The role also offers full input along the whole project lifespan and full training opportunities.

The CNC Machinist must be a driven individual with a full understanding of programming, setting out and operating both CNC and manual mills and lathes. You must be proficient in reading and interpreting engineering technical drawings with experience of GD&T and machining and manufacturing tolerances and standards. Ideally apprentice trained (or equivalent) and a knowledge of Prototrak software would be advantageous but not essential.

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced CNC Machinist to take ownership of a role within a new and rapidly growing organisation. Working with the full support of the business owners and wider engineering team, you will be given the flexibility and autonomy to generate solutions and be part of delivering major projects for key clients .

Job Description

As CNC Machinist you will be confident to tackle all levels of project within an engineering environment with a collaborative approach.

You will have experience on both CNC and manual machines with programming, setting out and running required.

The role also requires maintaining cutter and material stock and general machine maintenance as well as Inspection of manufactured parts to ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

Additionally you will have experience and knowledge of;

* Reading and interpretation of engineering technical drawings.

* GD&T, limits and fits, machining and manufacturing tolerances and standards.

* Manual turning, work piece and machine setting up

* Manual milling, work piece holding and machine setting up

* CNC milling, tool setting, programming, feeds and speeds, cutter selection and preparation, work piece holding and machine set up

* PROTOTRAK SMX and SLX software is advantageous

* Jig and tooling manufacture

* Computer literate

* 2D CAD dxf software

Additional skills

You will have/be:

* Apprentice trained (Or equivalent) with relevant qualifications

* A willingness to self-learn, motivate and develop

* A willingness to maintain company values and commitment to quality and professionalism

* A willingness to develop existing and learn new skills through various training programmes.

* Full clean driving licence and own car

* A flexible attitude with a good work ethic
