Location: Flexible, London preferred Role type: Head of function Background In UKI Risk, we provide a second line oversight role to the UKI Business. We do this by clearing the way for greater simplicity, building our capability, being brave leaders of change and we set ourselves up to make the most of systems thinking and automation. UKI Risk are set up to play our pivotal role in supporting Aviva to be a 321 year old digital disruptor, become a customer centric organisation and drive growth across our markets. As part of the risk function the UKI Compliance team will have principle accountability for overseeing regulatory compliance and conduct risk matters. Ensuring the business fully identifies, understands and mitigates its key compliance and conduct risks. Role Purpose The key purpose of this role is to provide advice to UK leaders on existing and upcoming regulatory and conduct risk regulation. This advice will provide leaders with the understanding and insight they need to make the best decisions for our customers and UKI. About You Experienced leader - capable of managing complexity; Strong communication skills - able to articulate complex matters simply; Strong diplomacy and negotiating - able to bring agreement where there are divergent views, but stand firm where that is required; Demonstrates great personal and professional integrity - highly credible and respected by key partners; Expert knowledge of the regulatory expectations that apply to UKI;. Strong judgement - able to identity and focus on key issues and guide and advise others. Key aspects of role To provide a centre of excellence on regulatory and conduct risk which provides UKI leaders (within all three lines of defence) with the insights they need to make their best decisions; To support UKI leaders in securing compliance with regulatory requirements and at the same time pursue UKI's ambition of continuing to innovate and develop the products and services we provide to our customers; To contribute to the management of regulatory relationships and delivery of mandatory change. The role holder is expected to lead a team c5 direct reports and a broader team of c10-15. This team will operate from multiple locations across the UK in support of the UKI business. The role holder is expected to provide practical solutions in managing multiple and competing demands for expert regulatory advice, and to help UKI leaders properly understand and correctly prioritise regulatory changes. The role holder is expected to contribute to the organisation by supporting the strategic and mandatory change agenda. In this role, there is a significant accountability in relation to supporting UKI leaders in delivering mandatory change in a structured and repeatable way. Will build strong relationships with 1st line of defence senior management teams across UKI and be seen as a credible and trusted adviser; Representing the compliance function in meetings and committees as requested by the UKI Compliance Director; Will build strong relationships across the UKI Risk function to be recognised as the centre of excellence for interpretation of regulatory requirement related to the compliance and conduct risk; Will build strong relationships with other partners across the Aviva Group, including the Group Risk and Compliance teams. Interaction with and advice to outsourced service providers as required; Represent UKI with industry bodies and government agencies as required; External experts and third parties as required from time to time.
