You will be joining as CFO, and will be assuming some of the duties of COO, which are currently shared between the current CEO and CFO, this represents an opportunity for career growth as the CEO is keep to focus on revenue growth.

My client is visiting London next Wednesday and has asked us to provide candidates for the role described below.

To support us in achieving our vision, we are looking for a talented individual to manage all the financials of the company and help implement the strategy. As CFO you will have the opportunity to help an exciting tech firm, providing mission critical solutions to leading global financial institutions. You will be working alongside the CEO, you will be running the accounting team and monitoring the sales team to drive more revenue. You will play a key role in the next phase of our company's growth. You will also be involved in our procurement and have direct interaction with clients and their compliance department.

As part of an experienced team operating out of the City, this role provides the right individual the opportunity to benefit directly from the success they create and contribute to our company's rapid growth as a key member of our team.

Key role and responsibilities:

  • Ensure Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Supervise accounting team
  • Develop the company strategy and develop financial models
  • Review company performance and report to CEO
  • Prepare quarterly pack for Board meeting
  • Attend quarterly Board meeting in Prague and present the financials of Company group
  • Prepare information pack for investor on quarterly basis
  • Responsible for the preparation of statutory accounts annually and liaise with the Auditors
  • Prepare R&D Claim annually
  • Ensure the company complies with financial procedures and regulations
  • Monitors contract with suppliers to ensure they are operating effectively and are the best value to the company
  • Monitor clients' contracts and ensure the company can meet the legal obligation
  • Run the procurement process with clients and negotiate fair contractual terms
  • Responsible for renewals of all the insurances for the company group
  • Monitor monthly cash-flow
  • Carry out all necessary actions to ensure that the company meets its financial and legal obligations
  • Develop all necessary policies and procedures to ensure to promote the company culture and vision and sound financial management
  • Review and authorise monthly payments to supplier
  • Review and authorise monthly payroll
  • Review and approve new spending request
  • Review annually sales commission scheme
  • Review staff pay and ensure they are appropriately motivated to carry out their respective responsibilities
  • Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth
  • Run weekly sales call with sales team to ensure they meeting their sales target
  • Co-ordinate with Product consultant and marketing firm to effectively build brand awareness for target markets/customers
  • Prepare and set budgets for each department in the company and ensure everyone is sticking to them
  • Oversee daily operation of the company
  • Co-ordinate with Tech team, Sales team and Marketing to set the company strategy and help with revenue growth
  • Ensure communication is effective between each department to coordinate sales and developer team and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Assist CEO in fundraising, when and if required.
  • Maintain the share cap table and liaise with lawyers and Company Secretary

Required skills and expertise:

  • Qualified accountant with post qualification experience
  • Managerial experience
  • Strong background in financial services and knowledge of the industry
  • Strategic thinking skills
  • Strong Leadership skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ideally previous experience in working for a start-up or SME
  • Strong formal and informal communications skills and ability to interface with senior industry executives
