In-house Real Estate Lawyer
Infinis is a leading diversified distributed power producer with a total installed generating capacity of over 480 megawatts across 153 sites, which generate electricity from methane rich gas. The company is a utility standard operating platform with three divisions: renewable Landfill Gas (LFG); baseload Coal Mine Methane (CMM); and Power Response (PR).
Infinis runs the single largest fleet of LFG engines in the UK and has c.300 employees.
This newly created in-house legal role forms part of a small, lively and professional legal team, undertaking a wide range of legal work underpinning the company’s operations.
You will provide legal support on all real estate matters affecting the group’s substantial operational and development site portfolio, principally working alongside the company’s Development & Estates team, covering the entire property life cycle from acquisition to renewal and decommissioning. As you would expect, responsibilities will include settling leases and licences, easements, transfers and providing support on corporate deals, as well as day-to-day advice to the business on property related queries.
Whilst property will be your primary responsibility, one of the key attractions and advantages of this role (in career terms) is the opportunity for you to expand your skills and advise on other areas of law, which are likely to include planning, construction, regulatory and commercial agreements.
The role would suit an existing in house commercial property solicitor or someone with a sound training in real estate matters from a commercial legal practice with a desire to learn new things. No in-house legal experience is necessary for this role, which could offer a natural progression from working in the real estate department of a commercial law firm.
For a property lawyer looking for a new direction in life, this could prove to be an excellent first step on the journey to becoming an in-house lawyer, and for the real estate solicitor community such opportunities are rare.
Infinis benefits from the financial strength of its owner, 3i Infrastructure plc, a major economic infrastructure business, whilst still being of the size to offer a varied and exciting workload and the opportunity to make a visible difference.
Infinis is a key player in what will continue to be a growth sector in the UK for the foreseeable future with a competitive remuneration and benefits package which includes a car allowance, bonus and pension.
This recruitment assignment is being handled exclusively by our retained consultants Florit Legal and all direct or third party applications will be forwarded to them.
