Customs Manager - Gloucester

We are working with a Global Aerospace Technology Company who have a great opportunity for a Customs Manager to join their organisation on an on going contract basis, in Cheltenham Gloucester.

The role
The Customs Manager will report to the Head of Logistics and Business Transformation working on a 12 month assignment. Working closely with the client's Group Customs Manager and the site Compliance Manager this role is to ensure that there is a robust and active Customs organisation structure within which owns the operational duties, management, compliance, for all import and exports to ensure certification to all required standards and bodies and guide and advise through the upcoming Brexit transition.

This role will ensure the communication and training of all staff actively involved in customs Import and Export duties ensuring appropriate information and communication with business functions and liaise with site operations and monitor to ensure that customs controls are not compromised or circumvented

You will manage and ensure the robustness of activities and procedures for the following:-

Implementation of clearance authorisations for such areas as:

Tariff classification of goods
Goods subject to import/export authorisation
Customs regimes IPR / MPR / OPR
Determination of the customs origin of the goods
Determination of the customs value of the goods
Fiscal proof of the export out of the community territory (specific EU) !! UK
Customs Guarantee
IT Systems

You will also specify, support selection, and manage the performance of subcontractors of customs activities and support relations with the relevant customs authority

The successful candidate will also handle of non-compliance to ensure management processes are in place and lead and resolve any identified non compliances ensure that a resolution is put in place which will prevent such noncompliance form re-occurring.

Initial projects identified within the role include leading to assess the implementation of Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status for the client and to propose and Implement as approved modified process and procedures, organisation, and customs structure to enable AEOC certification

You will have working knowledge of Customs regulations and practices and be able to draft and implement process and procedural documents.

This role will be full time (Monday to Friday) based on the client site and require occasional travel to support activities.

Offer
£35.00-£40.00 per hour LTD/UMB rates - depending on experience
Mon-Friday with an early finish on Friday
