We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic `people person' to work for the RSPB on a six and a half month project on Mull. This is an exciting opportunity to promote Mull's amazing wildlife and rich heritage. Community Information and Tourism Officer Reference number: A4980119 Location: Argyll and Bute Salary starting at: £19,602 - £21,236 per annum Hours: Full time Contract: 6.5 months If you are you passionate about wildlife and enjoy engaging with the public. We are looking for a confident candidate, with excellent people skills, to showcase the Mull's special wildlife and to inspire people to support our work through membership. You will be leading guided walks, providing information and interpreting the island and its wildlife to visitors, and all whilst working closely with our partners. You'll even have the opportunity to assist on our survey work. The RSPB is the UK's largest conservation organisation, with over 200 nature reserves giving a home to thousands of species across the whole of the UK. By creating and protecting some of the country's rarest habitats we are ensuring the future for some of our most threatened wildlife. From now until 2030, The RSPB will be focusing on some ambitious plans and targets - working together with the public and its partners to collectively change the fate of nature. The successful candidate will be an ambassador for the RSPB, and will enthuse and inspire members of the public to join the RSPB by telling them about our work. Excellent people are the key to the RSPB achieving its vision, mission and purpose. This role offers the chance for you to be creative, engaging and most of all to make a difference, not just for wildlife but also for the families and individuals that you speak to at our various locations throughout Mull. This role is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. You will be asked to declare unspent convictions and cautions at offer of employment stage.
