IT Infrastructure Engineer
Our Team A small friendly dynamic forward thinking team, looking to expand its expertise by bringing in someone who can help us to support the delivery of IT infrastructure services and projects throughout the Natural Power network which consists of multiple global offices and a state of the art control centre. As part of this role you will be required to design, create and support the delivery of innovative solutions utilising enterprise grade technologies located both on-premise and cloud hosted. Duties and Responsibilities include: Design, specification and documentation of bespoke IT solutions including cloud service solutions. Monitoring and administration of both cloud based and onsite infrastructure. Assistance with senior level help-desk support including mentoring junior members of the team. Definition and administration of IT policies and procedures. Specification and procurement of hardware, software and services. Supplier account management and engagement i.e. raising support queries. Deputise for help-desk Manager when required Qualifications and Experience Essential: Educated to HND or equivalent in an IT related discipline with additional industry specification training e.g. Microsoft, VMWare or Cisco Significant previous experience working with the following technologies: Networking and server infrastructure, Routers, Switches and Firewalls, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, iSCSI, SSL, VPN, and IP Sub-netting, Network Quality of Service Configuration, Microsoft Windows server operating systems, SAAS and Cloud hosted systems Management & detection of cyber security issues and troubleshooting to provide timely solutions Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate both in a written and oral format across all levels Ability to work effectively as part of a small team with exceptional time management skills Provision of high quality, on time deliverables within a time pressured environment Flexible, adaptable and diligent Desirable: Educated to degree level in a relevant IT discipline with additional industry specification training e.g. Microsoft, VMWare or Cisco Experience working with Microsoft Office 365 and Azure experience, mobile device management, hardware configuration and imaging technologies, server virtualisation technologies, storage area networks and network attached storage Experience with Linux based systems, database administration and administration of enterprise voice platforms Experience within the renewable's industry Willingness to learn new techniques and skills General Duties and Responsibilities: Health & Safety: All employees are required to adhere to Health & Safety Regulations and ensure best practice is met by both themselves and by their colleagues Conduct: All employees are required to conduct themselves in a professional manner in accordance with company values, policies and codes of conduct as outlined in the employee handbook Quality: All employees are expected to work within the systems, processes and procedures outlined within the department and / or company handbooks or software platforms or training manuals Flexibility: A reasonable degree of flexibility is required from all employees to meet the needs of the role, the department and the wider company Additional Information Package offered will be dependent on qualifications and experience.
