Senior Buyer/Procurement Manager



A Procurement Manager is required to join a high tech engineering organisation with a focus in the medical sector. In this key role you will manage a small team of talented buyers working on a wide range of electro-mechanical products in a high tech environment.

You will be responsible for managing procurement functions in order to maintain a busy manufacturing environment, keeping up with demand to meet operational needs whilst monitoring suppliers, expediting of orders and negotiation of contracts to improve prices and quality. You will be working with Precision parts in small batches and will need to come from an engineering background and be very proactive.

Responsibilities may include:

- Regularly monitor, review and adjust MRP settings on component parts to ensure stock levels, order quantities and value are optimised.
- Monitor supplier’s capacity and adjust sourcing to maintain the flow of parts.
- Explore new and develop existing suppliers
- Provide support to Engineering on design projects.
- Respond quickly to customer requirements from our sales department.
- Develop ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency.

Procurement Manager Requirements:

- Experience of either managing or working at a high level within a procurement team.
- Experience working in a high precision engineering company.
- Relevant degree in business, manufacturing or engineering.
- Strong engineering experience to include the ability to read technical drawings.
- Expertise in Sage 200 or other MRP system
