We are delighted to be announce that we are recruiting for an Assistant Project Manager role based in Newcastle on a 2 year fixed-term basis. The role will be working with an exciting, innovative public-sector organisation who are working on a number of projects within an IT department.

This diverse role will provide support and technical expertise during a critical period of change. The client is focussed on streamlining services and ensuring efficiencies are maintained across the organisation.

Applicants will need to demonstrate their excellent organisational and planning skills together with problem solving, innovative thinking and confidence in use of technology. They will also have to demonstrate excellent team leadership, communication and negotiation skills to ensure change is delivered to time, cost and quality. Experience of technology project deliveries would be an advantage.

Key Responsibilities:-

* Participate in the delivery of IT projects by managing allocated tasks, to ensure the required project objectives, standards and deadlines are met.

* Matrix manage project resources, undertake task allocation and monitor progress against objectives in order to provide updates to the project manager.

* Monitor quality/business assurance measures, including cost/ benefit analysis, post implementation review, standards and procedures, in order to ensure IT projects, systems and services meet the needs of the Force.

* Provide advice and guidance on allocated project technical matters to internal ICT teams, external suppliers and end users.

* Liaise with suppliers of externally sourced systems, attendingmeetings as required, carrying out required monitoring and testing to ensure compliance with user specifications and when required, provide training in the use of new technology.

* Assist in the production of appropriate project documentation including test and communications plans and configuration documentation by liaising with ICT teams and line management.

* Review and update ICT Services standards and procedures inorder to keep them accurate and reflective of business change.

* Participate in the system of implementation and recovery procedures, including work outside standard office hours, and take part in the call-out/stand-by rota, in order to satisfy the needs of the users of the system
