My client, a financial services company (not insurance), based in the centre of Guildford, is seeking an experienced, personable Sales professional to join their team where you will be selling a business service to SME in London and surrounding areas.

The successful applicant should be sales driven and have demonstrated an ability to acquire new business customers in their previous role. You should be able to identify and act upon potential sales opportunities, work on your own initiative to develop their client base, identify the client’s needs and exceed client’s expectations.

This is a cradle to grave sales role, you will be expected to do a lot of cold calling to set appointments but also have a professional sales background to be able to present to potential clients at director level and negotiate a deal which is acceptable and beneficial to both parties.

The pipeline for business would typically be 3 months, so a consistent and consultative approach to winning new clients is key; this role is for a hunter that acknowledges the level of client they are dealing with and the financial impact any client decision has on the client’s business.

• Ability to make decisions quickly while understanding the financial risk and ensuring solutions in place to minimise that risk.

• Acquisition of new clients through telemarketing to obtain face to face appointments
• Cold calling will be a large proportion of the role, with 200 calls per week on average.
• Initially assess potential clients suitability to products by visiting the client, presenting the product and understanding customer needs
• To negotiate terms and agree processes with client.
• Create a report to present to the risk manager regarding potential clients.
• Visit clients to maintain relationships.
• To meet individual targets and contribute to team targets.
• To assist the internal sales team when required.
