Cashbook/Finance Clerk

We are currently on the lookout for an experienced, motivated Cashbook/Finance Clerk to help and support managing our client's treasury management function.

The post holder will work as part of a team processing a high volume of cashbooks transactions on the ledger. The Cashbook/Finance Clerk will work closely with other colleagues to ensure that they are able to provide cover for each other and able to perform any of the duties within the scope of this post when required.

Main duties:
-To provide counter cover during enrolment and busy times, dealing with student enquiries and help provide a customer service function.
-Assist with the administration of the on-line payment facility and liaise with colleagues to ensure that income is correctly recorded and allocated.
-Respond to enquiries over the phone, face to face and via email regarding the payments of fees and outstanding balances in a timely manner.
-Reconcile data at month-end and year-end, including reconciliations of bank accounts and petty cash using Income Manager and general ledger.
-Provide high quality customer care through the provision of accurate and confidential financial information.
-To work on your initiative to resolve queries in the first instance.

The candidate:
-Qualified to degree, AAT Level 3, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject or relevant formal training/experience is essential.
-Extensive work experience in a treasury, accounting or finance role.
-Experience of working with high volume bank accounts and large databases.
-High level of expertise in the use of appropriate applications within Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
-Ability to manage you own time and prioritise work as well as working under pressure and to tight deadlines
