To provide financial support to the MK business as directed by the Finance Manager. To ensure the integrity of financial data, reporting and analysis; focussed particularly on manufacturing processes, inventory and the product portfolio. Competencies 1 Studying for recognised accounting qualification, including AAT or equivalent 2 Good communication skills both written and oral DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES Overview 1 Organise physical inventory and cycle counts. 2 Investigate Cycle counting variances and resolve issues. 3 Monitor & analyse timesheet data submitted by respective departments, and maintain Engineering Work Orders. 4 Assist with product costing analysis and the identification of non-production material costs. 5 Monitoring of miscellaneous costs, invoice authorisations and queries, & ensuring correct attribution of project and IR&D costs. 6 Month-end support including running of inventory reports, and periodic cover for Accounts Payable processing and queries. 7 To provide financial support for Strategic plans, Budgets and Forecasts as necessary. 8 Continuous Improvement – To contribute to formal and informal processes to improve the business and its performance. Governance 1 To ensure the integrity of API’s financial information. 2 To ensure the API systems are aligned and produce financial information in the appropriate timeframes. 3 Understand the processes and policies behind resource allocation required to correctly value production. 4 To ensure internal processes and controls are in line with best practice. 3 Good knowledge of Excel and ability to manipulate large amounts of data 4 Ability to plan one’s own workload, and to meet deadlines 5 Good attention to detail, and attitude to accuracy and completeness 6 Able to work and contribute as part of a team Relationships 1 Goods Inwards and Stores 2 Procurement Department 3 Production Department 4 Other Finance Function Team Members – in MK, but also Gt. Yarmouth. 5 Engineering Team Other Requirements/ Travel 1 The role is based in the Milton Keynes facility; occasional travel may be required to customers, suppliers and other API sites from time to time 2 Continuous Improvement, you will have responsibility to make suggestions on Continuous Improvement within the business; expectations are around 4 a year.
