This globally recognised supply chain distributor supplying products into the Educational arena is now looking to appoint a European Account Manager where you will build brand awareness and sales by maintaining strong partnerships with our key trading partners and securing new customers across the continent.

You'll hold a strategically important position within the business by delivering substantial sales revenue and contributing to our long-term growth targets. You will travel regularly, proactively scheduling customer visits and seeking out marketing opportunities such as exhibitions and events in order to raise our international profile.

Responsibilities:

* Identify key prospects and partnerships in each of your agreed countries, regularly reporting on activity to ensure that sales are delivered in line with targets
* Promote sales of best-selling products whilst looking for opportunities to extend our range
* Maintain and develop existing trade relationships by identifying suitable product proposals and sending samples, pricing and any other supporting information in an efficient and timely manner
* Use your network and market knowledge to research, select and make contact with new business prospects, following up promptly on leads as per customer requirements
* Ensure that customer details for all new and existing contacts is accurate and kept up-to-date within all relevant company systems
* Work closely with the Sales Support and Export teams to monitor and manage order performance in line with company KPIs

Attributes:

* Solid educational background, with English and Maths to A level standard or higher. A degree in a related subject and/or relevant professional qualifications are desirable
* At least 3 years sales experience with a demonstrable track record of success
* Previous experience within a mail order or FMCG environment, preferably with exposure to international markets
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - credible, open and approachable, with the ability to adjust your manner to suit your audience.
* Additional European language skills preferably: French, Spanish or Italian
* A full UK drivers license and valid passport
