2nd Line / Windows Desktop Support Engineer – Gloucester £25k

Avanti Recruitment is working with a leading services provider in Gloucester to recruit a 2nd line support Engineer to work as part of their large technical team. You will be supporting users remotely by phone, email and remote desktop across their sites with occasional visits to other sites.

We are looking for a 2nd Line Support / Desktop Support Engineer who has a variety of technical support skills based around Windows O/S and Windows Server technologies. You will be providing 2nd line break-fix for their users and troubleshooting Server and Network issues and where necessary will escalate more complex problems back to their 3rd line team. You will be involved in installing, configuring and maintaining desktop hardware, software, telephony and peripherals, user accounts, servers and networks.

To be considered you will be a 2nd line Windows Support Engineer with experience in a User support role. You must have great customer service skills. Your CV should reference your experience using many of the following technologies:

* Windows 7/8/10

* Windows Server 2008/2012

* Office365 (MS Exchange)

* Active Directory – DNS / DHCP, Group Policy – setting up new users, groups, permissions and passwords
