Head of Finance

The Company

Our client is a fast-growing innovative UK based company with International trade in Energy saving products. Turnover last year was £3 Million, this year will be £5 Million with growth projected to £40 Million within 5 years

Role Requirement

To support the CEO & Senior Management Team with a first-class finance service to the Company.

To assist in the process of monitoring and improving profitability, financial controls, system administration and with key emphasis on provision of timely financial information and a structured control environment encompassing debtors, creditors and cash as well as cash management and company financial forecasting.

Reporting into the CEO, your principal duties/tasks and responsibilities will consist of: -

* Finance Team Leader and Operational responsibilities overseeing the finance department and maintaining of all financial systems including overseeing/reviewing sales ledger, purchase ledger, payroll, cash posting and all general ledger entries

* Responsibility for Monthly Financial Management accounts review and finalisation with the Management Accountant

* Payroll (external accountants processed),Cash Flow management and Forecasting

* Liaison with external professionals & stakeholders, bank, audit, insurance, HMRC including responsibility for VAT & PAYE returns

* Responsibility for ensuring that the financial processes, systems and controls are operating effectively

* Responsibility for maintaining statutory records for the business and preparation of annual Statutory Accounts with external auditors

* Budgeting, planning and forecasting

* Weekly meetings with departmental managers to discuss financial performance

Other Ad hoc duties including: -

* Offering professional judgement on financial matters and advising on ways of improving business performance

* Providing information to aid key strategic decision making and formulating business strategies

* Advising on the financial implications and consequences of business decisions

* Interpreting and communicating financial data to non-financial managers

* Liaising with other function managers to put the finances and accounts in context

* Monitoring and evaluating financial information systems and suggesting improvements were needed and implementing corporate governance procedures, risk management and internal controls

Essential Requirements

* ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent

* Previous experience at Financial Controller level

* Experience of Sage 200 Financials / CRM

* Project management, Job Costing and reporting

* Excellent communicator

* Proven ability of working under pressure;

* Strong IT skills including Advance level excel (pivots and other advance formulae formatting)

* Staff management experience, hands on approach to working at all levels of finance

* Ability to work to tight deadlines

* Ability to adapt to a changing work environment

Desired Requirements

Degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, or a related field; experience in a business or finance environment; management experience; leadership skills; interpersonal skills;
