Time 2 Help Job Title: Personal Assistant Care at Home Pay rate: £9.00/hour weekdays & £10.00/hour weekends Location: Domiciliary Reports to: Lead Support Worker/Director Hours: Up to 35 hours per week Job Purpose To provide a full and extensive personal support service to service users To carry out support detailed in personal care plans To record a brief summary of each client visit highlighting any issues / concerns. Main Accountabilities Responsible for providing a high level, comprehensive personal support service to service users. Duties will include physical tasks in relation to personal care of the client ( for example, dressing, washing and meal preparation) and social duties ( for example talking with clients, helping clients to maintain contact with family, friends and the community, assisting with shopping and recreation) and aimed at creating a supportive environment where clients can achieve maximum independence. To support clients to adhere to medication requirements following assessment and approval. Duties may include undertaking cleaning and other domestic duties as necessary. Escort duties supporting service users in the community will be required. Attend meetings and take notes as required. Undertake any other duties which may be allocated as and when required Job Specific Requirements There is an expectation that short listed candidates will meet all the requirements stated in the job profile. Knowledge & Experience Experience of carrying out domestic and personal support tasks. Deal with confidential information sensitively and effectively. Experience of working in a community or personal setting. Working with people with various disabilities, complex needs, and potentially challenging behaviour. Both written and oral communication skills gained either through work experience or education Good general education (including minimum standard grade English and Maths/Arithmetic) Ability to support adults both in and outwith the home. Previous experience in providing support to individuals Customer Care Ability to deal with clients, carers, external partners and other professionals effectively Ability to evaluate significance and urgency of information received and take appropriate action Excellent customer service skills Equipped to deal sensitively with highly confidential information, of a potentially distressing and emotionally disturbing nature Equipped to deal with exposure to difficult people Health & Safety Able to cope with the demands of the job and attend on a regular basis Ability to undertake a full range of duties which include handling and moving of service users using appropriate equipment. You have the personal responsibility for taking care of yourself and others and to comply with all relevant health and safety requirements. Willingness to undertake all relevant training connected to the role Possession of a current driving licence Be or become a scheme member of the PVG scheme. Be or become registered with SSSC as a Care Worker. Access to a vehicle insured/can be insured for business use.
