Why is Quality Control important to us?
Having pride and confidence in the products we sell is essential so good quality control is critical. Your role will involve contact with almost everyone in the business, from liaising with sales people and customers at the design stages of a cable to working with the purchasing team and suppliers to ensure the cable is produced correctly. Inspection, testing of production samples and routine testing of finished products forms a vital part of the role.
You will be at the core of the commercial activities of the company.
Assessing manufacturers and maintaining records of supplier issues will allow us to continue supplying products that are consistent in quality, fit for purpose and form a brand that customers can rely on. If things go wrong you will be heavily involved in finding appropriate solutions to ensure minimum impact on our customers.
There is a wealth of knowledge and experience already in the company that you can tap into but you will also need to be curious and committed to self-learning.
You will need to build your own areas of expertise and develop a thorough working knowledge of relevant standards and procedures. The role will be “hands on” and you will spend some of your time inspecting and testing samples before they reach the customer. The results need to be recorded accurately and methodically so a keen eye for detail is essential.
Your job is to make sure customers get the product they are expecting and to act as a “go to” knowledge point for the rest of the company.
Inventory Quality Control Coordinator Main Duties:
+ Ensuring the quality of products by inspecting incoming stock for its consistency and compliance.
+ Product testing within the FSC laboratory to ensure products meet the required standards.
+ Liaising with suppliers to resolve any product issues.
+ Building relationships with independent test companies, including making site visits and ensuring the products are tested to meet the latest international standards.
+ Working closely with the purchasing team to create new product opportunities and introductions, including the design and integration of new products into the range.
+ Creating technical product documents for the business.
+ Troubleshooting quality issues by identifying the root causes of RMA’s from customers, reporting quality issues and managing through to resolution.
+ Help develop and deliver product training information on new and existing products, standards and test methods.
+ Keeping up to date with changes to relevant standards and regulations.
+ Continuously review quality control processes to drive improvements in products, packaging and service
+ Preparing standardised work procedures and communicate them to relevant departments
+ Create and complete supplier auditing documentation
+ Ensuring test data is recorded accurately and documentation is filed correctly and available for future reference
+ Maintaining calibration records for all testing and instrumentation equipment in the lab
+ Desire to learn and develop knowledge of products, procedures, applicable standards & regulations.
+ Exceptional attention to detail
+ Proven logical problem solving and analytical thinking capability
+ Experience in data recording and handling
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to share and relay technical information to a variety of audiences
+ Passion for quality and maintaining high standards and best practice
+ Positive attitude and approachable manner
+ Confident ability to use the Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
+ Team player
Nice To Haves:
+ Experience in a similar product quality control role ideally in a relevant industry (e.g. electrical components/accessories)

The role-holder will be known as Quality Control Technician.
