We sell some of the more unusual electric and optical cables, all over the world, although our main focus is here in the UK. About the Purchasing Manager role
Reporting to the Commercial Manager you will be an integral part of the success of the business. With quality, competitively priced products from stock we can offer our customers a brilliant unrivalled service. There is considerable expertise and knowledge within the company to support the role and you would have day to day involvement with the commercial manager.
You will need to show past experience of stock management and reorder planning, demonstrating not only a logical approach but also an entrepreneurial flair so we stay ahead of the competition.

You are there to support not only the purchasing team but also the sales guys to win business.
Purchasing Manager Main Duties
+ The day to day management of the department
+ Assisting and developing team members to achieve their goals
+ Managing product file information in our ERP system
+ Stock forecasting and supply scheduling
+ Communicating with UK and overseas suppliers by telephone, skype and email, including processing orders, delivery times and pricing issues
+ Negotiating with suppliers and freight companies in the UK and overseas (including; China, Turkey and Europe)
+ Identifying and sourcing products needed to fulfil back to back requirements
+ Calculating selling prices.
+ Monitoring and holding suppliers accountable for delays, shortages non-conformances.
+ Obtaining supplier approval in accordance with ISO 9001 and other applicable Quality Standards e.g. ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001
+ Reviewing levels of current stock and refining stock forecasting to ensure optimal levels of stock are available to meet customer needs
+ Working with the team to ensure the department runs effectively and meets the companies and customers objectives
+ Liaising with sales/marketing/warehouse regarding deliveries and accounts department on invoice/purchase queries
+ Maintaining close contact and providing support for the sales team, in order to meet the needs of our customers
Purchasing Manager Requirements:
+ Previous B2B purchasing manager experience is essential (a similar industry would be an advantage)
+ Proven team leadership skills and experience
+ Good commercial awareness and business acumen with proven ability to negotiate, recognise and influence opportunities
+ Experience in supply chain management, stock monitoring, planning and forecasting
+ Ability to work to tight deadlines and multi-task under pressure
+ Self-motivated with a willingness to learn our products through the training we provide and through self-development
+ Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
+ Team player
+ Good communication skills
