Are you a qualified or experienced sports coach? Are you a graduate with an interest in working with children? Do you have personal experience of children with SEND? Are you interested in a future in teaching? If the answer is yes to any of these questions then the following role may be ideal for you.

Empowering Learning are recruiting for candidates to partake in our new SEND Explorers course. The course gives individuals with an interest in working as a Teaching Assistant, but a lack of experience in a school based setting, the opportunity to take part in a training workshop and a 2 week placement. Candidates who successfully complete the course will then join Empowering Learning’s bank of staff, working in schools and educational provisions across Teesside and North Yorkshire.

Ideally you will be available 5 days a week, however candidates with part time availability will also be considered. You will be a graduate or have relevant transferable skills such as experience working as a Youth Worker/ EX police/ military/ Sports Coaching / Care work. Candidates with personal experience of dealing with SEND and challenging behaviour within in their home and family life are also welcome to apply. You will be required to Hold or be willing to process a current DBS (Children workforce) and it be registered on the online update service.
