An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Market Researcher to join our team based in Nottingham. You will work on a full time permanent basis. In return you will receive a highly competitive starting salary of £21,000 - £23,000 per annum.

Formally, we’re a registered charity that acts as the recognised representative body of all students at the University. The Students' Union employs over two hundred staff; around half of our staff are students who balance work with their studies and social lives. Other staff work full-time, some are part-time and some are required only during term-time and thus work for just part of the year.
The Market Researcher Role:
Your main purpose will be to conduct, analyse and interpret qualitative and quantitative research to enable greater understanding of our members and the union-wide services we provide for them.
Responsibilities as our Market Researcher will include:
- Collating, analysing and reporting on student issues together with how they relate to different areas of the student community, segments and actionable engagement pathways.
- Utilising the insight team’s account management approach, be the accountable representative of the insight team
- Support the embedding of evidence-based action across Students’ Union departments.
- Evaluate the impact of research findings to develop clear and concise case studies of change.
- Collect relevant student insights using a range of innovative and appropriate qualitative and quantitative research methods.
- Assess current and future student trends, issues, needs, behaviours and perspectives of union service provision and activities - Development and implementation of ongoing data collection projects such as Customer Service Review programs.
- Support the Social Media Co-ordinator to manage a large team (20+) of casually employed student staff
- Seek ways to expand the role of Brand and Insight Ambassador, introducing cross-departmental collaboration projects.
Essential skills and experience needed from our Market Researcher:
- A graduate degree or qualification that included research modules/ study or equivalent experience
- Experience of managing research projects, using a range of research methods to a range of audiences.
- Proven ability to analyse complex qualitative and quantitative data.
- Experience of managing, implementing and monitoring multiple projects within a fast paced department
- Experience of designing and delivering engaging presentations and reports to a variety of stakeholders
- Experience of designing and conducting online questionnaires and focus groups
- Proven examples of researching the behaviour of others
- An understanding of behaviour change theory, and how it can be embedded into research design and output
- Through your work and approach you identify with the organisational values of empowering, collaborative and inclusive
- Able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as necessary
