Assistant Management Accountant – Location Baglan, Permanent, Salary £28,000

You’ll need to be part qualified (ACCA/CIMA) accountant with experience of accounting, forecasting and managing fixed assets. As our Assistant Management Accountant you will support the Management Accounting function, acting as a true Business Partner in going beyond just the figures. You will be responsible for accurate accounting, forecasting and management reporting and will also manage Tai Tarian’s fixed asset register.

The Assistant Management Accountant duties and key responsibilities:

- Promote and encourage the Business Partnering concept supporting all areas of repairs & maintenance, working with budget holders to review spend, re-profile forecasts, challenge assumptions and identify risks and improvements

- Contribute to the management accounts and reporting process, responsible for the repairs & maintenance departments, reconciliation of financial transactions, reviewing financial performance, monthly variance analysis, future forecasts, narrative reporting and preparation of related KPI’s

- Manage the Component Accounting process including recording new and replacement component assets, impairment reviews and write off and the calculation and posting of monthly depreciation charges

- Preparation of monthly reconciliations for fixed assets and depreciation to the financial and asset management systems

- Year-end reconciliations and preparation of fixed asset related audit schedules for inclusion within the Financial Statements

- Manage the Property Fixed Assets Database, including recording, validation, analysis and the reconciliation of the fixed assets register and asset management database

To be considered as our Assistant Management Accountant, the below skills and experience are essential:

- Part Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA)

- Experience of management, component and fixed asset accounting

- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and connect with people

- Experience of working in highly regulated environment

- Excellent IT Skills (Microsoft Excel)

- Project Management skills
