Behaviour Specialist Learning Support Assistant for Cheltenham Primary school

Monarch Education are currently looking for a Behaviour Specialist Learning Support Assistant to work on a full-time basis for a January start.
This position is to work in a large Primary School in Cheltenham that has been Ofsted rated ‘Requires Improvement’.
The school are currently seeking a Behaviour Specialist Learning Support Assistant with experience of working with these needs, to support their pupils in the classroom and on a 1:1 basis.
This role will include contributing to the management of pupil behaviour and promoting the learning and development of pupils by:
• Promoting school policies on pupil behaviour
• Supporting implementation strategies to manage behaviour
• Contributing to the management and development of pupil behaviour and reporting any problems to the class teacher
• Reporting any progress towards targets for the pupils in relation to their Behaviour Support Plans
• Providing a level of attention and support that is appropriate to supporting the pupils needs, modifying workload, tasks, materials used and approach to help towards the learning & development of pupils, ensuring that desired outcomes are achieved
• Deal with & de-escalate any disruptive behaviour, reporting to the teacher any difficulties that you are unable to overcome

The successful candidate for the role will have:
• A nurturing and compassionate attitude with a calm approach to behaviour
• Experience of working with children or young adults with Social, Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties
• Good communication skills to enable you to develop good working relationships with pupils, staff & parents/ carers
• Confidence in your approach to supporting pupils with Challenging Behaviour
• A valid TeamTeach certificate would be advantageous for this role, however it is not essential
• 2 professional references relevant to working with children or adults within the last 5 years
• A reference from your most recent employer
• A DBS certificate on the update service or be willing to process a new one – Monarch Education will refund you for your DBS one you have completed 12 days’ work
